Danny Bohbot talks about how to get a guide dog

I have always thought that
guide dogs are a wonderful help for the visually impaired and blind so when I was reached out by, Danny Bohbot,
a teenager who is legally blind and lives in Iowa, in the United States to talk about guide dogs I said YESSSSS!

She was just accepted to the Pilot
Dogs School in Columbus, Ohio.

She will go this summer, 2012 to this school to do the training that is required and get her guide dog.

Pilot Dogs is a Non-profit organization that helps providing guide dogs for the visually impaired and blind that needs them so much.

Guide dogs are certainly a best low vision/blind person friend!

Pilot Dogs is non-profit meaning that any visually impaired or blind person in the US can go there and the plane ticket and the stay and the guide dog all are for free!!!

During this interview Danny shared with me what are the basic steps to get a guide dog and what are some of the benefits of getting one.

You can listen to the whole interview here:

I also discussed with Danny many other subjects like school, attitude towards her disability and so much moreā€¦

I love the ocean and we discussed how it was to her to see and feel the ocean for the first time in her life.

Danny is a great example for everyone because she although is legally blind is a very upbeat, happy person.

We also discussed traveling with low vision and we gave tips to listeners.

Please consider to get a guide dog if you feel your eyesight is deteriorating a lot and you also may want some companionship.
